It's not news that USC has struggled to meet expectations this season, but it's not helping that it can't keep some of its top impact players on the field and off the injury list. Blog Photo - USC football: Trojans lose Lamar Dawson and Justin Davis for season

Interim coach Ed Orgeron confirmed Wednesday evening that linebacker Lamar Dawson and running back Justin Davis are out for the season after suffering a knee and ankle injury against Notre Dame, respectively.

Davis, who was the Trojans' second-leading rusher with 361 yards and six touchdowns, has already undergone surgery to repair his ankle. Dawson (35 tackles, 3.5 TFL, 1.5 sacks) will have surgery, but is holding off until the swelling has calmed down a bit.

Due to the lingering NCAA sanctions, USC has major issues with depth at multiple positions—linebacker and running back are no exception, as the Trojans will look to a few different underclassmen to step up and fill the void.
