Blog Photo - USC upsets Stanford on last minute field-goalAn already crazy day in college football got crazier out west at the LA Coliseum. Just 10 days after defeating Oregon to stay in the BCS title race, Stanford got tripped up themselves, falling to USC 20-17. The Trojans won with a 47 yard field goal with 19 seconds left. It was a well deserved victory for USC, who as this game highlight video shows, made some big defensive plays in the second half to set this up (Fast forward to the 2:20 mark for the field goal).

For Ed Orgeron and USC, this is a huge win after they were left for dead when Lane Kiffin was fired. Orgeron is making a good case for becoming the permanent head coach. For Stanford, it ends their national title hopes, and likely their Rose Bowl hopes as well, as Oregon takes back the lead in the Pac-12 North. With the four big unbeaten teams more or less having no issues this week, we are down to four teams for the BCS championship: Alabama, Florida State, Ohio State, and Baylor.
