Ugliest NFL Jerseys Ever

You May Have Six Lombardi Trophies Pittsburgh, But You're On The Worst NFL Jerseys Of All Time List

2/4/09 in NFL   |   Michael_Luchies   |   17 respect

The NFL is the most solid producer of solid uniforms.  Basic styles, simple colors, and classy logo's make NFL jersey's more attractive than other sports (sorry hockey, but you have the ugliest jerseys in the world).  NFL jersey's run into their biggest design problems when they make the mistake many other sports do; attempt to wear the throwbacks.  You would think that these teams might get the idea that the throwback jersey's are no longer worn for a reason.  We are going to start with the ugliest jersey in the last 10 years, if not in the history of the NFL.

First up, the Philadelphia Eagles throwback:

There's nothing better than a bright yellow jersey with powder blue trim and numbers.

A very close second are these New York Jets throwback jerseys

Looks like a bad mix of the Steelers and St. Louis Rams uniforms.

And were the Pittsburgh Steelers ever a soccer team?  They may have won the Super Bowl, but there is no excuse for these throwback jerseys worn in 1994. None.

The NFL Pro Bowl not only highlights the best players in the NFL, but also the worst jersey designs of the 21st century

A few other NFL jersey designs that could make you want to rip your eyes out include;

The Seattle Seahawks

Tampa Bay Bucs

Carolina Panthers

And the Buffalo Bills.

And here may be the worst NFL uniform ever, courtesy of the Denver Broncos.

Now, you're probably looking at this and saying, 'What do you mean? The Broncos look fine, and like they did for a large part of their history.' Well, you'd actually be wrong. The team in the white jerseys and blue helmets isn't the Broncos. The team that's wearing the hideous mustard color uniform with turd colored pants is in fact the Broncos. Seriously, I'm not kidding. The Broncos wore that awful combination for their first two seasons (1960-1961).

The only thing I can say about these ugly NFL jerseys, is that they are all better looking than Jamarcus Russell's sweater.

When I was a kid I always thought that Doug Williams' perpetual grimaced face was such a juxtaposition to that damn winking pirate on the side of his head:

The organization itself is one of the best in the league, but those throwback uniforms were pitiful!

The Eagles jersey was a tribute to the original team from Philadelphia...the Frankford Yellow Jackets. Bert Bell bought the team, and re-named it in honor of the NRA (National Recovery Act), whose symbol was an Eagle.

When the heck did he ever try to discredit the Steelers organization?  Nobody questions their class or anything.  Those were just damn ugly jerseys.

I would call you egocentric, but since I think the big words might hurt your one-track mind, I'll just say you're more full of yourself than anyone I've ever seen on here, including myself. And that's saying a lot.

No, dude he's just a typical Steelers fan. I go to school in Pittsburgh now, originally from Philly. They have a big inferiority complex. Hate the Eagles. Play them once every four years and they hate us. You think Cowboys fans hate Texans fans, or Chiefs fans give a damn about the Rams. Can't explain it.

I think those Bills throwbacks are sharp and classy.

Well... the problem is that you made the comment that "The Steelers are garbage because of these jerseys that they used to wear". Oh wait... no, you didn't. In fact, you never once implied that "the jersey makes the team", like that guy mentioned. Nor did you treat the Steelers any differently than the rest of the teams that you mentioned on here, even though their NORMAL jerseys are uglier than half of these.

I thought you were pretty nice to the Steelers, if anything, and you don't deserve to be called my twin. Yet.

The Panthers have one of the worst jerseys ever? Are you smoking something with Phelps?

I don't care for them but they are most certainly not ugly. I do like the soccer comparison made between the Steelers throwback jerseys and the NYJets throwbacks actually look decent.

I have always been a fan of the Seahawks uni's and especially their logo. And yes, I liked the old Bucs uni's and LOVED the winking pirate logo - however the orange was a bit creamcyclelish... and the Panthers are not bad at all.

Maybe toss in those red shouldered things Arizona wears... but the Philadelphia throwbacks look like UCLA on acid.

But Philly pulls it off in the sharpest uniform contest with the white jerseys, green pants and the best logo/helmet in the NFL.

That is the Oilers playing Denver isn't it?

True - for if the team made the uniform they would put their logo on both sides of the damn helmet. Tell me 7rulz - if they came out in pink and purple would you still say that was the best thing since sliced bread and anyone who disagrees with you needs to shut up?
