After beating the Bears in Chicago 21-14 in week 10, the Titans improved to 9-0, and moved one step closer to matching the perfect regular season that the New England Patriots had last year. With stifling defense (13 points allowed per game) and an electric rushing offense (133 yards per game), the Titans are looking a lot like they might be the best team in the NFL."We're going to lose a game. We’re going to lose more than a game. I don’t think anybody here is talking about an undefeated season or expecting to go undefeated. We’re going to lose.”
Awesome confidence, Kyle. Way to believe in your team. Why don't you go ahead and tell me WHICH game(s) you're going to lose? Are you going to lose to the Jets or the Browns at home? God, I hope not. Maybe to the Lions at Ford Field? That would be a hilarious disgrace. Maybe the Texas in Houston? That would certainly be pathetic. Maybe Kyle's planning on losing to the Steelers and Colts in weeks 16 and 17, since he says they'll lose more than one game. Is that how it's going to be, Kyle? Do you plan on giving up after 14 games? Because unless the Titans really tank one, I don't see any games that should end up in the "L" column before that, barring a monumental failure on the Titans' part.
I understand Vanden Bosch's statements, and his desire to keep himself and his teammates grounded, and maintain realistic expectations. But if you look at the Titans' schedule, there really is no reason they should lose a game, never mind MORE than one game. Their toughest opponent is the Steelers, who are travelling to Tennessee in week 16. The next toughest game would probably be the Jets, who are a very soft 6-3 team, and also will be playing the Titans in Tennessee. The rest of their schedule is a combined 14-30 this year, pending the Colts-Steelers game.
I believe there's a great chance that the Titans could go undefeated. Their schedule is extremely favorable, and they are built like a playoff-style team, with the ability to maintain their success for the long haul. Whether he believes it or not, essentially guaranteeing a loss for your team is NEVER a good idea.
