Update: As I mentioned earlier this morning, Sam Perlozzo has indeed been fired. Rejoice Oriole fans ... I think.
It's already that time of the year, when a team makes a last ditch effort to save the season mixing up the clubhouse.
Sam Perlozzo was clearly not going to work in Baltimore, but you'd like to see the front office take some responsibility for the $42 million dollars of waste that resides in the bullpen. Bill Ordine of the Baltimore Sun wonders who's fault this really is?
So I pose this question: If owner Peter Angelos won't trust Perlozzo to manage this year's team, why should he trust his current personnel decision-makers to assemble next year's club?
According to Buster Olney, the Orioles have hired former Cubs President Andy McPhail, who plans to meet with Joe Girardi possibly today. It's his job if he wants it. Expect Perlozzo to be fired later today. As is the case in most seasons, this opens the floodgates giving a couple more teams a good reason to fire there own.
