Sure, I may be new to this site and not one to usually get all worked up. That was until I found that no Fan had written an article about one of the most exciting fighters in all of MMA, WEC Featherweight Champion, Uriah Faber. On second thought, maybe it is not such a surprise to have so few paying attention to this great fighter, since only a small percentage of MMA fans even know of the WEC, World Extreme Cagefighting. The WEC is owned by the same organization that owns UFC. It is based out of Las Vegas and has a contract with Verses Televison for weekly shows. The WEC also focuses on lighter weight catagories that are not featured in the UFC. This includes a Featherweight (145) and Bantamweight (135).
Uriah Faber is the King of the WEC. His intesity and overall skills in the octagon will drop the jaw of all MMA as quickly as he drops his opponents. Faber is a ground specialist but has great power in his hands. His conditioning is second to none. Faber is currently 27-1 with only 3 wins by decision, including his latest title defense where he handed former UFC Champion, Jens Pulver his first defeat at that weight.
So if you are a fan of MMA fighting, and have not yet seen "The California Kid" in action, do yourself a favor and tune into the WEC. Uriah Faber will be defending his featherweight title on November 10th against Mike Brown in Las Vegas. It is on Verses and it is FREE!
