Utah hires Dennis Erickson as co-offensive coordinator
Erickson, 65, brings a lot of experience to the table, especially in the Pac-12. He spent 11 seasons with three different teams: Washington State, Oregon State and Arizona State.
"Dennis Erickson brings a wealth of knowledge and coaching experience to our program," Whittingham said. "He has been labeled as one of the original architects of the spread and we are looking forward to the impact he will have on our offense. Coach Erickson also has recruiting connections across the country which should benefit us on that front as well."
Utah struggled mightily on offense in 2012, which is a big reason the Utes are bringing Erickson in. They finished with the No. 75 scoring offense and No. 100 passing game last year – obviously two recipes for failure in a high-tempo conference.
The Utes went 5-7 (3-6) last season.
