VIDEO: D'Antoni delivers "You're Starting To Piss Me Off" Meltdown
After a 4-8 start, Coach D'Antoni, Lakers fans probably find the feeling mutual.
D'Antoni's full response was actually, "Hell yeah, we worked for a half hour on (defense). You're starting to piss me off. You're starting to piss me off because you say something that's not factually correct."
Video of the starting-to-be-pissed-off D'Antoni can be found below.
That is not the kind of publicity that the folks at FreeCreditScore.com were hoping for when they bought that interview backdrop.
The interview broadcast was cut off and Time Warner Cable SportsNet went back to the studio, where none of the on-air anchors acknowledged what had just happened.
D'Antoni's ire was directed at L.A. Times columnist T. J. Simers, and it was not the only testy remark that D'Antoni made to Simers. When Simers asked what D'Antoni would tell frustrated Lakers fans, the coach snapped, "You tell them, or you write for Cleveland so you don't count." D'Antoni apologized for that one right after making the remark, saying, "It's the medication."
Additional cursing on live television microphones could be heard elsewhere in the Lakers' locker room. When asked by reporters about this season's circumstances, Kobe Bryant said, "I won't lie, man. They're really f****** with my Zen s***. They're really trying my patience with that Zen thing."
