Vancouver Canucks season failing miserably
Its not that the Canucks find themselves in such situations quite often where they simply cant find the spirit to fight. With the last few games remaining in the regular season left to go and the playoffs to kick in, the Canucks are in a very bad position to make it for the playoffs and are more than a few points behind the other teams.
Since 2000 the Canucks have made it to the playoffs only in 2006 and 2008. Even in those years the final few games had a sense of urgency and were important. This year it is not the same case as the Canucks are losing their games miserably and any form of resolve to win them is absent from their minds.
The Dallas Stars beat them to a pulp with their 5-0 victory which left them lagging by 6 points with 6 more games left in the season to go. Then the Rangers came along and beat them 3-1. But that match seemed to be a lost cause the moment it began.
Canuck defenceman Alex Edler said that they had not been in such tight situation before and they were not doing well because of that. He added that they had not lost the cause yet, were focused and were still in it to make it to the postseason but to do so they would have to get their act together and focus more on winning games.
“We've never really been in this situation before, and it's not where we want to be,” Edler said. “There have been a lot of losses; it's been tough. We're going to battle to the end but we need a lot of help here.”
