The buzzsaw that was Venus Williams at Wimbledon ended in predictable fashion, with Venus crushing Marion Bartoli 6-4, 6-1 to win her fourth Wimbledon title.Like her sister Serena at the Aussie Open, Venus has come out of essentially nowhere, dealing with rust and speculation on her dedication, to win a Slam. It's amazing how they can turn it on like that after sitting idle for so long. The best comparison would have to be the Shaq-Kobe Lakers. Flick a switch, and boom: a championship.
Meanwhile, tomorrow morning's men's final (9:00, NBC) will pit Pong against Capri Pants once again. This is the second straight year the two have met for the Wimbledon final. This is Federer's turf, so he has to be seen as the heavy favorite. Last year, Nadal took a set off of him.
