A few teams have added uniform patches and found other ways to pay respects to the victims of the tragic Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting this weekend, but Giants WR Victor Cruz went a step further, after being deeply touched by the story of one of the victims.
6-year old Jack Pinto was a student at Sandy Hook, and a huge Victor Cruz fan.
Some friends of Pinto's family got word to Cruz and the Giants that Cruz was Jack's favorite player, so Cruz decided to dedicate this game to Pinto and his family.
He posted pictures of his gloves and cleats on his Twitter account, dedicating the game to Jack Pinto and offering condolences to the family.
In a time as sobering as this, it's refreshing to see an athlete reach out to fans at a devastating time like this. A classy move by a classy player, this is something that the Pinto family will never forget.
All NFL teams observed a moment of silence for the victims before their games today.
