Kings and Devils face off in the first game of the 2012 Stanley Cup Finals [Open Game Thread]
Nobody could have predicted this Cinderella final matchup to the 2012 NHL Playoffs. Whichever team takes home the hardware will have overcome the odds by beating higher ranked teams just to make it to the Finals. Will the Kings continue that streak by defeating the Devils? Or will the Devils break the pattern?
It's been said that age and treachery trumps youth and skill. Brodeur is getting up there, and he's starting his 200th playoff game tonight (200!). Jonathan Quick is an elite up-and-comer, who has the skill, style, and poise of a seasoned veteran. We shall see if the old adage holds true in this case. Of course, Brodeur still possesses skill, and I'm sure if you've asked anyone who's faced him, Quick can be quite treacherous.
