After being traded to the Detroit Pistons on Monday, Allen Iverson held his first press conference with the Pistons. Iverson stated that he would do whatever the coach wanted him to do, and that he would carry out any assignment to the fullest. In an excellent moment of genius, Pistons coach Michael Curry interjected with: "Even practice?"
Genius.
Iverson laughed it off, and jokingly responded with "Practice? We talkin' about practice?" This was definitely one of the finer moments in the press conference.
In case you missed it, here's the video of the press conference that he was referencing, complete with "Practice" counter. Enjoy it... it's one of the best press conferences you'll see in a long time.
In other news, Iverson's #3 is currently worn by Rodney Stuckey, so AI will wear Chauncey Billups' old #1 jersey. No word yet on whether Billups looks to return the favor and wear Iverson's #3, since JR Smith wears #1 in Denver. The league is not allowing players to switch numbers mid-season, so although Stuckey offered to let Iverson wear it, the NBA said no.
