Falcons owner Arthur Blank and GM Rick McKay met with the media this afternoon and shared their thoughts on the overnight departure of head coach Bobby Petrino. A surprise to no one, they were very unhappy.
"The best way to describe how we feel is betrayed and let down," Blank said.Not shown in this ESPN video clip was Arthur Blank sharing that Bobby Petrino had come to him on Friday expressing his concerns with the Falcons and interest in returning to the college game. They met again over the week, Blank addressed his concerned and on Monday just six hours before the game he asked Petrino how he was feeling and got this response:
"His answer was, he shook my hand, 'You have a head coach.'"I doubt Petrino was referring to now interim coach Emmitt Thomas. This all sounds so fishy, but I guess that's what we should expect from the coaching profession, especially in the SEC. Anyone else think the new Razorback coach will have a difficult time on the recruiting trail this month?
