Someone get a body on B.J. Raymond. Not once, but twice he was left with an open look from down and twice he delivered. This final blow off of the inbounds with 31 seconds left sealed a Xavier win that they nearly blew.
It's hard to point of free throws as a major factor because John Calipari tells me it isn't that important, but let me remind you that Joe Alexander missed a go ahead field goal in regulation that would have won the game. West Virginia was 6 for their last 11 from the line in regulation and overtime. Certainly other factors could have helped them win, but it's hard to ignore those, particularly 2 for their last 6 in overtime.
Great win for Xavier who's been wanting the opportunity to prove themselves on a big stage. West Virginia wasn't that team, but the UCLA Bruins definitely will be on Saturday.
