Mark Bradley, a nerdish-looking writer for the Atlanta Journal Constitution, took a very minor swipe at the city of Cleveland in his Game 1 blog of the Hawks and Cavs series. Which is totally appropriate, because Cleveland sucks.
This city, as you’d expect, is pumped. We Atlantans moan over the state of our franchises, but Clevelanders have it way worse. For one thing, they have to live in Cleveland.
So, what did the local anchor Bill Martin for Fox8 in Cleveland do? Well, first he openly challenged Bradley to a fight on the nightly news. But that wasn't enough. Just before Game 2, Fox8 managed to get Bradley to come on the air live and speak with Martin. It's pretty much as awkward as you can possibly imagine, including Martin referring to the Journal Constitution as the "Urinal-Constipation", multiple Waffle House disses, and yet another challenge issued to Bradley to man-up and fight. This is all while the female co-anchor tries to throw in the "you know this is a joke, right?" save as things escalate, which fails horribly.I guess Martin can sleep well at night knowing his Cavs are going to sweep the Hawks...but he still has to live in Cleveland.
