Boston College is Notre Dame's "Little Brother"

It is clear that ESPN will try to do anything to talk about one of their favorite teams.  This week on the show that looks like Cold Pizza but isn't actually Cold Pizza did a preview of the Notre Dame's game against the #4 Boston College Eagles.

It is clear from the look of a deer in headlights that the Notre Dame student has very little to trash talk with.  A win last week against UCLA is nice, but the UCLA team they beat wasn't exactly a PAC-10 contender, nor at full strength.  Oh, and don't forget there were those 7 turnovers.

So that I can get the Eagles fans riled up here, a couple of quotes:

"The preferred term is Backup College" with a t-shirt to match.

"We at Notre Dame look at Boston College as our little brother"

Credit to the Eagle in Atlanta for finding the clip.

I love it when nerds talk smack. They're so respectful of the other academic institutions, that they're afraid to go all out.

I saw this live on Cold Pizza or whatever it is called now and it very high on the unintentional comedy scale. The past 2 days on 1st & 10 the had Stephen A and Skip yelling at each other. I thought my TV was going to explode.

I love how the BC fan was very respectful while the ND nerd was a loser who had no idea what he is talking about, was all over BC.

ND fans can talk all the trash they want but it will mean nothing until they can back it up on the field.

That would make it the first time a Boston fan has been respectful of anyone since October 2004.

Doesn't it suck when the little brother grows up, and can finally beat up the big brother?

Sorry, ND fans...

BC fans can enjoy their success now, but when they get that first loss please don't be surprised.  Quit playing weak schedules and man up.  You didn't exactly throttle ND.  You are the next OSU if you are not very careful.

Weak schedules? They beat the defending ACC Champ (Wake Forest), and Georgia Tech, who was #15 at the time. We play Va Tech next week, and we also have Florida State, Clemson and Miami on our schedule this year. And it's not the Eagles' fault that ND sucks so bad this year. Any other year, they're considered a quality opponent. BC might lose eventually this year, but it won't be because they didn't "man up".

FSU, Clemson and Miami aren't exactly what they used to be and are struggling.  I never see BC in the top ten in respect of Strength of Schedule.  I makes no difference if it is their fault.  Reality is what it is. GT was over-rated and their record shows it.  So they were number 15 after wins against a rebuilding ND and Samford?  Sorry, but that is not going to fly.  BC path to the BCS is easier that OSU and you know it.  OK has it harder and don't get me started on LSU.   BC's opponents after VT records are a combined 16-9.  OSU has to face teams that a combined 20-8.  This includes a rematch with Michigan in the Big House.

No comparison.

But when you say "quit playing weak schedules", you have to take into account the fact that the schedules are made years in advance. To claim that BC has a "weak" schedule is ridiculous. Most of those "tough" games on OSU's schedule are conference games. BC's not in the Big 10. There's not a lot they can do with that.

BC might not have a top 10 schedule, but it's not a weak one either.

Weak is weak.  They are traditionally strong teams out there in the SEC, Pac-10, Big 10, they could have put some of them on the schedule every year?  BC should have thought about that before switching conferences.  Maybe they should gone to the SEC, but then they would never be undefeated right now.

Teams should not be afraid to stick their necks out there and take a chance.  USF did and even though they have lost and our out of it, I have to respect them for at least trying to schedule on very difficult Non-Conference opponent.  Auburn is crazy good, but unfortunate in the fact that they are in the SEC.  LSU escaped last night.

If you knew anything about college football you would stop looking so dumb.

1) The schedules are made a few years in advance, how the fcuk would BC know ND was going to suck????
2) BC always has and always will play a New England rivalry game (UMass, Maine, UNH)
3) BC always has and always will play a Armed Forces rival (Navy, Army)
4) Every team plays 1 push-over. (Bowling Green)
5) Tom O'Brien made this schedule, so there is no way BC could change it with the new coach.

Next year BC will tell their non-conference opponents to not to suck, okay??? Learn your stuff before you spew about something that you have no clue what you are saying.

You're so lost, it's not even funny. Nick summed up your various mistaken views, so I won't expound any more on them, but it would be really nice if you had some sort of clue about what you're talking about. It would make this debate a lot more worthwhile.

So for me to know anything about CF, I am REQUIRED to know BC's schedule format?  Spoken like a true homer.  So if this is both or your reasoning for all CF fans, then I will go ahead send this message out to all fans.  I will go ahead an memorize all teams schedule formats along with BC's.

"If you knew anything about college football you would stop looking so dumb."   This statement is so broad and generic that it has no effect on this conversation.  So for S and G's.  If you two know anything about CF, you two would know that the best Conference in CF is------?

Please complete this sentence, then I can see if you two are worth conversing with more or if I am wasting my time.

I have no idea what I am talking about?  You tell yourself that.  Reality check, BC will not win the National Title, the sooner you realize that the better off you will be.  They play a weak schedule to be in the top five.  At least USF had the balls to play someone in the SEC.  I will not back off of that.  LSU is number three with one loss, why?  You said it yourself Nick, because it plays in the strongest conference in the nation and that means everything.  Shut up?  Nice and mature.

Dude, He is a fan who is excited for his team/school to be in a position to possibly play in the National Title game or a BCS bowl. Why rain on his joy of being a fan of a team/school that has had some struggles recently and have turned it around and are playing very well and trying to do something great. I am an Oklahoma student and when we scheduled Miami back in 2004 we had no idea they would be this bad. All the teams can do is go out there and beat the teams in front of them.

I never said BC would win the National Championship nor did I say the would make the NC. Don't put words in my mouth. Give up on the USF BS, if 2 or 3 years ago when BC scheduled ND and USF scheduled Auburn who would you have thought would be better??? ND of course. NO ONE COULD HAVE KNOWN ND WOULD SUCK WORSE THEN SOME D-1AA TEAMS. Again you are putting words in my mouth, when did I say LSU shouldn't be #3???? BC is #2 and that isn't going to change because you don't like them, it will only change when they lose. Grow up dude.

You know what the great part is? You claim that BC plays a weak schedule, but BC is still #2. And until they lose, they will continue to be #2, unless they move up to #1. And there's not a damn thing you can do about it. Because your convoluted incorrect views don't matter at all.

Enjoy.
