You may remember this clip - courtesy of Red's Army - from Atlanta's beat down of the Celtics a few night's ago when Al Horford and Paul Pierce got into a bit of a jawing match. Pierce wandered over towards the Hawks' bench and flashed a sign of some kind. Pierce is originally from Inglewood, Los Angeles, so a lot of people said he flashed a Blood gang sign at Horford - which admittedly is probably true. Others have said it's just a sign for "asshole." It most definitely was not Pierce giving the 3-point sign, no sir.
Well, whatever it was, Boston wants to let Pierce know they have his back. And they'll straight up become hardcore Bloods to do it. From some radio station in New England I've never heard of (WEEI 850) comes these photos of Boston Mayor Thomas Menino and Celtics announcer Tommy Heinsohn throwing up the same sign Pierce did.

The Menino photo is apparently from 2005, but more to the point, I have no clue who in God's name those guys with Menino are, but at least one of them is rocking the Blood Boston Red Sox cap. Should help Menino gain votes in the wannabe-gangsta poser demographic. As for Heinsohn, I wouldn't mess with that dude at all. That face says "Thug Life" all over it.
I just hope we get photos of Menino and Heinsohn pouring some liquor out before the next game. That would be awesome.
