Say what you will about President Bush, you can't argue that he's not a big sports fan. He seems to enjoy these visits by our championship teams more than a lot of more important daily activities.

Yesterday the Boston Red Sox paid a visit to the White House and Dubbya was in rare form. You've probably heard his comment on Manny Ramirez already (you can see it here) - "Manny Ramirez couldn't be here today ... I guess his grandmother died, again." Several ooohs, followed by many a laugh.

I enjoyed his exchange in regards to Dice-K (above):

"We welcome Japan's Dice-K here to the South Lawn. His press core is bigger than mine. And we both have trouble answering questions in English."

He also thanked Jonathan Papelbon for wearing pants.
