NBA Triple Threat: Your daily roundup of last night's action in the Association.Boston107 Orlando 88 Boston used a balanced attack led by Paul Pierce's 24 and Ray Allen's 21 to get past the Magic in a battle of division leading foes. Pierce scored 17 of his 24 points in the third quarter after scoring only 5 points in the first half. Rajon Rondo had a great game with 16 points and 12 assists as he is slowly becoming the point guard that the Celtics need him to be. Boston has won 17 of its last 20 home games against Orlando. The Magic were led by Rashard Lewis who had 30 and Dwight Howard, who had another double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds. That was Howard's 11th double-double in 15 career games against the Celtics and he has also posted a double-double in 14 of 18 games this season. Boston improves to an Eastern Conference best 17-2 while the Magic drop to 13-5 but still lead the Southeast division by 2 games over Atlanta.
Miami 130 Golden St. 129 OT Golden St. continues their losing ways this season, this time it was in overtime. In a wild last 10 seconds of overtime, Chris Quinn nailed a tying 3-pointer with 7.1 seconds left, followed by Michael Beasley stealing the ensuing inbounds pass and getting fouled. Beasley stepped to the line and hit one of two with 3.1 second remaining. The Warriors had one last shot at it as Jamal Crawford drove the lane and put up a runner that rolled on the rim and just fell out, handing the Warriors their 7th straight loss. Dwyane Wade continued his stellar play with 37 points and 13 assists while Shawn Marion and Udonis Haslem each added 21. Even though Crawford missed the shot at the buzzer, he still had a game high, and a high in a Warriors uniform, with 40 points and Corey Magette added 29 points. With the win Miami moved to .500 on their west coast trip and .500 on the season while the Warriors dropped to a lowly 5-13.
Charlotte 100 Minnesota 90 Really, this game was pretty inconsequential. Emeka Okafor had a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds while point guards Raymond Felton and DJ Augstin added a combined 23 points and 18 assists. Randy Foye had 23 points while Mike Miller added 19 points and 10 rebounds. Rookie Kevin Love had a solid outting off the bench with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Sorry this game just really didn't have anything worth reporting. Both teams aren't very good so if you are a fan of either, sorry I didn't put much effort into the warp up of these pretty bad teams.
