It's been a challenge to take the Packers seriously based on their recent exploits, but it's finally time to consider Green Bay a viable Super Bowl threat.
Beating the Lions isn't all that impressive, but consistently bringing a solid and effective effort that is. Not to mention they have this quarterback that appears to be exceptional. You know, what of these he might be a great one.
Brett Favre stole another record from Dan Marino, his 63rd three-touchdown day, and in the process completed 20-straight passes.
Toss in what appears to be a formidable running game in Ryan Grant (101 yards) and you have yourself arguably the best NFC team. Dallas does their work with a little more flash, but I'm not sure the Packers aren't better prepared for the postseason with their defense.
As far as the Lions concerned, they were never to take too seriously. Sadly, they're still in the playoffs if the season ended today but that 10-win promise is looking shaky at best. Do you think they'll get there?
What I love about this team is how they can be in a normally obvious running situation (like 2nd and 1) and come on in an empty backfield in the shotgun. It takes some stones to be that blatant that we're going pass. Knowing it works is icing on the cake.
