We were finally
Basically, Greta Van Susteren (who is a Packers shareholder and friends with Favre's wife, so obviously no conflict of interest here) let Favre use her show as a soap box, from which he proceeded to throw Green Bay's organization under the bus. Favre claims he was more or less forced to retire, which is stupid. I didn't see anyone with a gun to his head at his retirement press conference.
Favre also uses the stunningly lame excuse that he needs to be 100% committed to play - which he is now - but wasn't when he made his decision to retire in March. So apparently the Packers mischievously set him up to make a decision when he wasn't 100% committed and knew he would crumble and retire. Does this sound completely ridiculous to you? Or is it just me? Because this sounds like a guy just making stuff up. Which is more or less what the majority of this interview is.
You might also notice that Favre, who supposedly has Aaron Rodgers' best interests at heart (right Peter King?) doesn't mention Rodgers ONCE and gets visibly mad when he talks about how he was told he could come back to the Packers, but as a backup. This man clearly has Aaron Rodgers' best interests at heart, by which I mean he'd like to keep Rodgers on the bench forever.
Also, there's yet another part to this interview airing later today. I'm not sure what it'll cover, considering this interview was essentially almost all hot air.
Anyway, I never had anything against Favre in the past, but now I do. Guy is an indecisive, excuse-creating, backstabbing, prima donna.
How's that for a legacy, Favre?
