Brett Favre's Monday Night Football Oakland Raiders Game After Father Died

Say What You Will About Brett Favre Hype, But These Highlights Still Give Me Chills

I don't know if you've heard, but this weekend Brett Favre returns to Oakland for the first time since his memorable Monday Night performance the night after his father died. You probably hadn't heard anything about that.

Say what you will about the Brett Favre over-hype, and I tend to agree with most of that sentiment, but this was one of my all-time favorite Monday Night games.

You couldn't help but get chills after each perfect rope Favre tossed. He was near perfect on December 22nd, 2003, completing 22 of 30 passes for 399 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Perhaps most memorable though, was that Raider Nation even gave Favre a standing ovation after the performance. They hardly give those to their own team.

You couldn't help but get chills after each perfect rope hail mary Favre tossed heaved that his receivers miraculously snagged.

I love Brett Farve, not because he's a Jet now but because he has great character, compassion for the game, and love for his family. I don't know if many people know that his wife has cancer and that is the reason he fights with playing football every year. He wants to be with her but she does not want him to stop playing. This is what Bretts been fighting with every year at the end of the season for the last few years. He would play forever if it was possible.
