Brock Lesnar TKO Victory Over Randy Couture For UFC Heavyweight Championship [UFC 91]
Brock Lesnar Is A Freak [Video]

Brock Lesnar proved that he was no joke, defeating Randy Couture at UFC 91 in Las Vegas to win the UFC Heavyweight championship.

The 45-year old Couture looked as good as he ever has, and gave the much bigger Lesnar a tough time in the early stages of the fight. Lesnar, however, landed a huge elbow to Randy's face in the 2nd round, staggering him, and then landed another huge right hand that dropped Couture, and finished up the TKO with a series of hammer fists to Couture's head while he was down.

Lesnar has now silenced the critics, and proved that he's not just the UFC's version of Kimbo Slice, as one idiot tried to say. Lesnar is a huge fan favorite, but that's not the only reason he was given this opportunity. He is a supremely talented fighter, and has the ability to fight and beat anyone in the world. He will only improve with time, and is showing great improvement with every fight.

Check back in later for more videos and analysis of this fight and the rest of the night's fights.

Are you kidding me.  Coutre was the heavyweight alternate on the 1996 US olympic wrestling team and was one of the best mma fighter of the last decade.  An average football player would get destroyed by Coutre or probably any fighter for that matter because fighters fight and football players PLAY football.  Remember Mark Gastineau's boxing career.  There was a above average football player who couldn't fight for $#!t.

Ah the old hammer fist. See, if boxing allowed that, I'd totally watch it more often. And considering I never watch boxing, that would be an improvement.

I sure think so. He's just freakishly athletic for his size. And he's improved dramatically every fight. It's pretty scary. He could rule UFC for like 4 or 5 years.

This was an excellent fight, and I think it showed how much Brock has matured as a fighter.

Despite getting beaten, I think Randy showed that he is still one of the best in the world. Brock's just a freak, physically, and it's going to be hard for ANYONE to beat him as he moves on.

If Tim Sylvia can hold it for something like a year, then I think Brock is good for at least 2-3 times that. At least. Sylvia was a fraud.

That would be an incredible match ...I might have to give Goldberg the edge.... he has been training Muay Thai for at least 7 years now

the guy is an animal   strait up  even in the loss he had,      he was to excited for the fight you could tell   now he is more calm and patient waiting to strike and doing more damage with his strilkes, you can see his training coming thru which is nice to see.

In the UFC anyone with hard hands can win a fight.  Lesner will now have to take on all comers.  I agree that he performed great but he will have to improve his submission defense if he wants to "rule" UFC, Frank Mir proved that.

In all honesty, I think Brock's performance was a disappointment, regardless of the outcome. Did you hear the fans there?? They were not that impressed and neither was a veteran UFC fan like myself. Sure he won the fight, and the title (which was his goal), but it was in horrible fashion. He didn't dominate Randy in any way, in fact, at times Randy was pushing Brock around the cage and even escaped from the ground on several occasions (including one in which Randy's arm was completely pinned under the massive knee of Lesnar). Then came the "knockout"...lol... it almost looked as scripted as a scenario from his old WWE days. He barely grazed the temple and that is what knocked Randy down, and subsequent hammer fists is what ended the fight. A win is a win, and I give Lesnar credit from ultimately winning the belt; but in NO WAY was it even close to being a dominating performance, and he did show that although he is absolutely massive, he is still just a human being.

Do you honestly think that there is anyone in the world who can put in a dominant performance against Randy Couture? There's nothing wrong with "barely" beating Couture. I think people forget how ridiculously awesome Randy is. He's the smartest fighter alive, and just beating him is difficult... I don't think there's anyone right now (except maybe Fedor) who can dominate Couture.

I Agree to a point but i think that it will not be that hard if some one can use his size and speed against him he will go down but i hope it is someone who is a smart fighter

But Lesnar was a NCAA Super Heavyweight freestyle wrestling champion in 2000.  I'd put my money on Lesnar or Coutre against any football player in a mma fight.

You truly have no idea what you are talking about. Not that your comment even deserves a response but ANY 155er in the UFC would make ANY untrained NFL player there BI@#$ in the cage. I would go as far as to say that most amateur  fighters would not even have an issue with ANYone in the NFL.

Wow you seem to have some sort of infatuation with Gay sexual activity.....apparently you have never seen any highlights on ESPN of athletes in other sports like football and basketball fighting on the field nor have you followed the few that have tried unsuccessfully to make it in either MMA or boxing. I personally only know of 2 that have had any kind of success, Ken Norton in boxing and Bob Sapp in MMA.

Spoken like a truly ignorant individual.

That's like saying you would take any other athlete over an NBA player in a game of HORSE. There's no way of getting around this... you're wrong.

Wow. You are operating on so many false premises that it is absurd.

You do realize that Brock Lesnar wasn't a football player who just decided to just move into MMA on a whim, right? He was a world class wrestler (in college, not just the fake crap) who tried football as a gimmick, and then trained for years to fight MMA.

It's not like he was just some football player who decided to give MMA a shot. He had a very extensive background in wrestling, which is where a lot of great MMA fighters get their start.
