ESPN says Championship doesn't begin until today, but Bucknell decided to kick it off last night in appropriate fashion. The Bison weren't having one of their typically good season and finished as the 7th seed in the Patriot League. Such is the beauty of March, you can still go dancing despite your regular season struggles. (Thanks to FanHouse for the video) Bucknell kept their season alive against 2-seed Navy with a 40-foot bank by John Griffin.
Duke 86, Virginia 70 Mike Patrick nearly proposed to Coach K. Who do you guys like on Saturday night at Cameron?
Wisconsin 77, Penn State 41 The Badger clinched a share of the Big Ten Title. Not sure why I ever doubted Bo Ryan at the start of the season. Doesn't matter what happens, next fall I'll be picking Wisconsin to win the Big Ten again.
Vanderbilt 86, Mississippi St 85 (OT) If you wanted to map out an ideal way to go out on senior night, Vandy's Shan Foster nailed it. 42 points and the game winning three with 2.7 seconds left. I realize Chris Lofton is a lock to win conference player of the year, but here's a vote for Foster. I'll have to wait until the matchups, of course, but I'm liking the Bulldogs more and more to pull of a big upset.
Game of the night: #11 Xavier at St. Joseph's - Good chance to see Xavier before the dance and a better chance for St. Joe to join them with a win.
