Kansas is good. WWL's Scott Van Pelt and Neil Everett were on hand in Lawrence (thanks to Big Lead for the video) and interviewed by Holly Rowe during a boring second half. Why such a dull game? Because the Jayhawks are really, really good. Didn't hurt that Oklahoma's entire team went down with Big 12 freshman of the week Blake Griffin's knee. With or without Griffin, I doubt it would have been close. There's not a deeper team in the country, from Mario Chalmers to Russell Robinson outside, Darrell Arthur and Darnell Jackson inside, and Brandon Rush on the wing. If the tourney started today, I'd lean heavily towards picking the Jayhawks.
All about the Benjamin. Speaking of depth, the Pittsburgh Panthers are showing they'll be able to fight through injuries with the emergence of Keith Benjamin and Ronald Ramon leading Pitt with 18 points each in an upset over #6 Georgetown. As I've stated previously, the Big East standings are going to be a cluster-F in a few weeks with spots 1 thru 10 separated by, at most, 2 games. Should be fun.
