College basketball (almost) daily weekend reax addition ...
Seriously, stop crying Stealing the show from what was an exceptional effort by the Terrapins, were the many UNC students crying. Crying, because they lost a regular season college basketball game that will ultimately mean very little come March. That's embarrassing. I suppose you could argue my previous point, that loss might mean a great deal as it finally exploited what was a very good team with many weaknesses.
Maryland fans must be having some issues with their hair this season. Maddening to say the least. Clearly able to beat any team, but also lost to American University. Their record vs #1 teams is stunning.
Trojan man USC beating UCLA surprised me more than UNC's loss.
And it wasn't OJ Mayo leading the way, he was busy missing shots while the lesser publicized freshman Davon Jefferson stole the show with 25 points. Of the teams who are lingering in the lower Top 25 or unranked that has the best chance at a long run in March, I'd put USC atop that list. This would assume they improve tremendously, but they are more than capable of stringing together 4 wins. Let's see how they react to this marquee win.
Somebody was overrated #9 Texas A&M caps off its grand week with a 21 point loss to Kansas State. Kansas may very well run the table in the Big XII.
Big East in a nutshell Pittsburgh beats top ranked Georgetown, one week later loses to 9-9 Cincinnati. Only team I trust in March remains the Hoyas.
Your thoughts on the weekend. Who's the best team in the country?
I didn't get the crying part. You figure you shouldn't drop outta the top 5, especially with the Number 4 losing. Then if you can beat Duke and finish strong, Kansas is bound to lose one here or there, and Memphis doesn't play anybody outta d-3, you have a strong chance to regain number one again.
It is not like it is the first time some students in the student section have cried over a loss. I am sure any ACC fan any back me up when I say no one likes to lose to Maryland. God, I hate losing to Maryland.
Where are the new rankings posted? dook at 3, seriously? I am not angry that Carolina is at 4 because I thought it would have been worse, but what has dook done to be the third best team in the country?

Beat a Wisconsin team that wasn't half as good as it is now on a national stage.

Well so did Marquette, which so happens to be dook's other good win, and they look horrible lately. I don't know if that makes sense. It did when I thought about before I started typing though.

Marquette looks awful right now. Its inevitable that eventually Dominic James will kill that team at some point of the year. It looks like he got a little bit of an early start this year.
