Yesterday, one of you on our jokingly titled "NHL Fight Of The Night" post said in the comments that we should keep this up. Well, we live to serve, so here you go.
As some of you may know, the Tampa Rays weren't the only team to give away a seemingly insurmountable lead last night. The Pittsburgh Penguins were up 3-0 on the Washington Capitals, yet wound up losing 4-3. And that was without Caps superstar Alex Ovechkin even registering a point.
But the Penguins definitely won in one category last night: most vicious right hand crosses thrown.
Penguins rookie Paul Bissonnette beat the stuffing out of the Capitals Matt Bradley so badly that Bradley collapsed to the ground on his butt and could barely get up. The huge punch was the final one, a right cross that nailed Bradley on the upper temple and nose.
And people say boxing is dead. Not at all. It's just moved over to the ice.
Rookie does what Pens couldn't, TKOs Capitals [Puck Daddy]
I was watching that one live lol. Bissonnette beat him like a red-headed step child. Bradley got one little jab that didn't even phase Bissonnette. Bradley got jacked up big time and looked pretty weak.
Ok, who says fighting don't belong in hockey??? This was great. It's part of the game and it's what a lot of fans come to see. They both consented to the fight and both knew that they could get hurt. Fighing is used to help inspire your team and also to protect your superstars. Take away fighthing and you might as well take the pads off and play broom hockey. Hey, hockey is a rough sport, if you don't like it, don't play, don't watch and let the fans have their game as it is. And take all this silly penalties away that were meant to speed up the game. If you blow the whistle all the time how does that speed anything up??????
it's unbelievable that the Caps were able to come back from 3 down without AO getting a point! I'm worried about Theodore but it looks like they are going to be able to build off of last years effort...
WOW after looking at the tale of the tape and the video I was sure Bissonnette was taller than 6'2. He looks taller than Bradley, as well as way over 6'2! Not that everyone is always the age/height/weight they are listed as right Dany?
