What would we do without Sir Gambling Debt around? I learn to appreciate him more every day, with each added pound and each added dollar in debt.
You remember this interview with Ernie Johnson, after it was made public that Charles Barkley owed a Vegas casino $400,000 in gambling losses they had lent to him. At that point, Charles made it clear he had a problem and that he would never gamble again. Then his claim turned into at least a couple years.
Turns out he only lasted two months.
Barkley is headed back out to Vegas to compete in a Celebrity Charity Poker Event. You see, it's for charity. That's not gambling. Uh-huh. That's kind of like an alcohol pounding a case of beer because his doctor ordered that he consume increased amounts of water and rationalizing that the delicious cold beverages are comprised mostly of H2O (or something like that).
We're certain Charles won't wonder away from the tables to place some heavy odds on the upcoming football season... for charity, of course. After all, seems like he's been quite the philanthropist to Vegas casinos lately.
