Charlie Weis Booed At Wrigley Field While Singing Take Me Out To The Ball Game
This Was A Bad Idea

I'm not exactly a native Chicagoan, but I have spent some time in the city during my days. And one thing I learned is that Wrigley Field on game day during the summer is always packed with Midwestern college students and graduates, especially those from the Big 10.

And if there's one thing that the Big 10 - or pretty much any Midwestern college - absolutely hates, it's Notre Dame. So naturally, the Cubs decided to have Charlie Weis sing "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" today.

It, uh, didn't go so well. He was treated to a chorus of boos almost as soon as he stepped to the mic.

Which, in all honesty, was probably best for Weis. It'll get him well prepared for this upcoming season where he'll be booed even harder by irate Notre Dame fans.

I was going to slide this into a post on the topic... So I was in the car during the 6th and 7th innings of the game, and Charlie Weis sits with Pat Hughes and Ron Santo for the 6th inning.

They are discussing Weis' history and interests and Weis shares that he really wanted to be a sportscaster for the longest time, but then he realized it doesn't pay enough. He wasn't just saying that as a joke. Honest comment, while in the broadcast booth with two announcers.

Awkward silence ensued for a few seconds and then Hughes went on with the call. This is just another example of St. FUPA being an unlikable prick.

Yeah, I'm not sure he was booed because Chicago is Big Ten country. In actuality, Chicago is Notre Dame country first and foremost. He was likely booed because...

1. He's an ass

2. His team last season set records for putridity

3. He's a freak of nature because his buttocks are up front

I can't find a fault in your argument, sir.
