Leave it to the NBA to hire Tennessee's Women's Basketball clock manager.

After a very strong 3rd quarter by the Magic, finally hitting on their three-point shots, they were forced to absorb a Chauncey Billups three that should have never counter to end the period.

With 5.1 seconds left in the period, the Pistons inbounded to Billups to dished it off to Rodney Stuckey to hopefully beat the buzzer. Problem is the clock "inadvertently" stopped at 4.8, so Stuckey gave the ball back to Chauncey to "beat the buzzer."

Replays showed that 5.22 seconds ran off the clock before the ball left Billups hand. How is it in 2008 that NBA officials aren't able to get an accurate time lapse?

Better yet, how is it they guessed 4.6 seconds? They have TV's at the desk. Certainly, they have stop watches. Why is it they are not allowed to use this equipment?

Mr. Stern, any brilliant thoughts of yours? What a joke he's allowed NBA officials to become.

Who knows if the Magic would have gone on to win the game, but with momentum on their side after a strong quarter, a buzzer beating three that gave the lead back to Detroit certainly affected the outcome. Either way, the fact we're discussing the impact of a disputed play ruins yet another playoff game under Stern's watch.

Well it starts with basketball just being a better sport overall, and then the fact that David Stern, as off as he's been the past few year, still has a clue about how the business world runs unlike Bettman.

If the NHL had every playoff game on TNT, ESPN, and ABC, networks that most people have, and the NBA was on Versus, the NHL would have the ratings. Unfortunately, Gary Bettman is a idiot.
