You didn't need to be Nostradamus to predict Joakim Noah would have a run-in with authority in the NBA, but you might not have predicted his own teammates would be the individual suspending him.
During a Friday practice in Philadelphia, Bulls rookie reportedly blew up at assistant Ron Adams. As a result, head coach Jim Boylen suspended him for the evening's game. Joakim's teammates decided that wasn't enough and demanded he be benched for Sunday's game against the Hawks.
I see Noah's all-about-me attitude is rubbing off well on his peers. Surprise, surprise. Better yet, he appears to have learned a lot from this disciplinary action:
''Ask the players who made the decision,'' he said. ''They just told me what I did was unacceptable. I don't know. Do I agree with it? It doesn't matter, it doesn't make a difference. I respect my teammates. I respect their opinions and stuff like that. I just have to deal with it. I just have to accept it. What do you want me to say? I'm a rookie. It is what it is, I just have to move on. There's nothing I can do about it.''Or not. What do we want you to do? Grow up would be a good start.
Jay Marriotti, desperate for something to bash, is upset with the players having this much power. I say bravo, it's the best they've worked as a team all season. Not to mention the first time they've effectively boxed out a post player all season.
Prediction: Chicago Bulls hereby declare Noah trade bait within the next month.
