I shouldn't be impressed with anyone's performance against the Chicago Bulls, but Chris Paul was so jaw-dropping, disgustingly good in the 4th quarter I started cheering for him instead.
Hard to believe, but the Bulls were taking it to the Hornets for most of the game. I don't know how to explain that, other than Paul decided to let it happen just to give him a fun, new obstacle.
Down 9 to start the 4th, New Orleans outscored Chicago 33-13 thanks to CP3. Three-pointers, ridiculous passes, penetrated to the hoop whenever he felt it necessary. 37 points and 13 assists in total. If I'm allowed to call a basketball performance gorgeous, I would do so here. Just watch.
Tyson Chandler is on board:
"It was all Chris Paul," said Chandler, who finished with eight points. "The little man was all over the floor. It was incredible. It's one of the best performances I've seen from him yet. He, at least to me, made his bid [Monday night] to consider him the MVP."I'm on board the CP3 for MVP bandwagon. He's having as good a year or better as a point guard than Steve Nash's. Lebron and Kobe's star power will be too much, but Paul is just as valuable.
