Coach Mike Krzyzewski Disses President Obama's NCAA Tournament Bracket
Coach K Is Not A Fan Of Obama's Bracket

This story is rather stupid, but it's March Madness related, which means I'm required by law to post on it.

As some of you may know, President Obama is a bit of a hoops junkie. His brother-in-law is also the head coach of Oregon State. So needless to say, he knows a bit about college hoops. ESPN asked him to fill out a bracket in front of Andy Katz, which he did while providing some pretty interesting details. He was not kind to Duke, however, mainly because he picked UNC to win it all and said that Duke wouldn't make the Final Four because they don't have the muscle inside to beat Pitt. Which, if that matchup happens, I would agree with 100%. Kyle Singler will get broken in half by DeJuan Blair.

Meanwhile Coach K, who is a longtime Republican donor, naturally fired back - saying that the President should spend his time fixing the economy rather than filling out brackets.

Because we all know that if Obama hadn't spent those 15 minutes on his bracket, the economy would totally be fixed.

All hilarious partisan rhetoric aside though, I actually find Coach K's comments hilarious, mainly because earlier this year Coach K actually complained that his Blue Devils weren't getting enough media coverage. Seriously.

Well, you're getting plenty now coach, even if it's not the kind you like.

Although, Coach K should probably thank Obama for drawing news away from the real story about Duke, which is that they've developed a trend for consistently getting smoked in the second round by inferior teams.

I thought Barack put Duke in the "Elite 8."  Does Coach K think his team is any better than that?  North Carolina annoys me even more than Duke, but if you watch the games, there's no way that a basketball fan would put the "Dookies" higher than Carolina.  It just doesn't make sense this year.

Coach K just needs to shut up and coach.  When his team can avoid a March meltdown then he needs to talk.

Coach K I think you need to get a team back to the Final Four before you complain about how someone picks to be in the Final Four.

Not a Duke fan, but Coach K is Korrect.  Obama needs to stop being led around on a leash by Nancy Pelosi and fix the f--king economy before he worries about brackets.  While Obama was watching ball last weekend, Tim Geitner was using your tax money to slip million dollar bonuses to AIG execs.  Eyes on the prize, Prez.

This. No sitting president should be wasting time on Sports Center. And no b-b-b-Bush comments either

Yeah, even though every President in American history has done it, Barack shouldn't thrown out the first pitch on Opening Day of Major League Baseball either.  Ronald Reagan was a Cubs broadcaster and several other sitting Presidents were major sports fans.  But for this President, no way.  What a bunch of crap.  Go Bingamton!!!

Right because obviously the economy has gone from great to ridicously bad in the 2 MONTHS that Obama's been in office.......what? No Bush and his eight years of feeding his interests and ignoring Main Street citizens had NOTHING to do with it.

Yeah - we want a president in the oval office 24-7 because the previous occupier was constantly on holiday. Can't the guy love sport and fix the economy? Hello? Multi-tasking!!

And if he get's his bracket picks wrong - will there be a massive exodus to Canada or Mexico? Because: how can you trust a guy who can't pick the winning teams?

Wow.  It looks like Coach K was fine, when invited by a sitting President to celebrate his 2001 National Championship Team.  I guess it isn't always bad for a President to take a few minutes and talk sports, huh?

Who cares, really? I'm a dem and I voted for Obama and even I was a bit put off by seeing him on SportsCenter doing his picks and the same thoughts ran through my mind of "Doesn't this guy have more important stuff to do?"

And to everyone who posted that Coach K shouldn't talk until Duke wins (again), then are you seriously saying that you *wouldn't* have still hated on Coach K if he would have made these same comments after making the final four? Not that Duke is making the final four this year unless they get really lucky, but I KNOW that all of the haters would STILL be posting that Coach K shouldn't be talking even if he would have made these comments after making the final four, like in the post game conference he said "Well I guess the Prez's picks were wrong" you know you'd all still be posting the same thing.

It makes no difference, most people are always gonna hate on Duke no matter what. No big deal.

Hardly.  Plenty of blame for both sides of the aisle.  Clinton created the problem, Bush presided over with action, and Obama is wrecklessly trying to spend his way out of it.  Bush was a complete idiot; but Obama's spending spree looks entirely incompetent.  When we get the hyper-inflation from the new trillion dollars that Obama's treasury just created out of thin air and printed, I fear we will be calling Bush, Jr. "The Good Old Days".  Again, so it can be PQ'ed by the amateur economics professors here: Obama has more important things he should be doing than filling out NCAA brackets and arguing with Coach K.  The campaign's over.  Get to the business of governing, Prez.
