As you probably already know, Coco Crisp charged the mound in the second inning tonight after he was beaned by James Shields.

This series was already pretty heated to begin with. Yesterday the Sox wrestled first place in the AL East away from the Rays and Rays manager Joe Maddon accused Crisp of "intentionally" trying to injure second baseman Akinori Iwamura during a steal attempt.

Tonight was obviously payback.

Anyway, I'm disappointed neither guy connected, although both showed excellent bob and weave ability.

Luckily Jonny "Psycho" Gomes - who's known for going nuts during fights - got involved and belted Crisp a few times on the ground.

I approve.

Ok, for one thing Coco went after Iwamura because Bartlett the SS tried to break his hand on a previous slide earlier in last night's game.

Shields is a moron. Not only did the Rays have a chance to get first place back, but he threw the damn punch with his pitching hand. He might've KO'ed Crisp if he connected, but he'd jack up his hand in the process. Brilliant.

Gomes just earned himself one between the numbers next time these two teams meet.

3	wow...i am surprised by Coco's actions and his response afterwards. I didn't need a play by play of the events. I don't think any major leaguer is afraid of Covelli Crisp. He hit you in the leg anyways. The Battle for first place justgot personal!
