Colton Orr Knocks Matt Cullen Out Cold

Good night. Wow. You'll be hardly surprised to know that Matt Cullen left with a broken nose after this vicious hit from New York Rangers' Colton Orr.

Mike Commodore of the Carolina Hurricanes gets the teammate of the day award for immediately dropping gloves with Colton Orr and taking care of business.

I hope were not implying that this was a dirty hit. Orr did nothing wrong. Sure it was a little high, but there were no elbows. Cullen should have been paying attention.

I guess there is no love lost between these former teammates.

I don't agree fully. He seemed a little bit of head hunting, and I know all of the Flyers jokes and cracks are coming, but just lower your shoulder and hit him.

Eh, looked clean to me. Kind of looked like they may have knocked heads, but most of the damage may have come when he hit the ice face first.

Looked like a perfectly clean hit to me. Cullen's head was down...and what's one of the first fundamentals they teach us out on the ice? What's one of the common denominators when a hit like this happens? Head up, people!

As far as Commodore taking care of business...I think he "tried", but didn't succeed. Maybe he made a point but he got wrapped up and rocked. Kind of bummed I missed that game.

No, looked clean to me as far as what I know about hockey.

You said it, as a Flyers fan you have no right to talk about dirty hits. If you actually watched Rangers games this year you would see that Colton Orr has actually been playing hockey this year (I know I'm shiocked too) instead of just being a goon. And I don't know about you, but if I see someone skating with his head down, and I hit like a mack truck, I'm nailing the guy. Thats not head hunting, thats hockey.

Okay so go in with the shoulder, whats the need to bring the hands up towards the face? If you have a clear shot then use a shoulder which would seem more powerful to me that some hands anyway.

He hit him square. Both players were square to each other. It was a clean shot no matter how you take it. There were no elbows thrown, and apparently the way he hit him was powerful enough. You can see the results of that.

If you wanna talk about cheap shots and dirty players, I could go all day on the Flyers.
