Detroit Lions fans are doing a lot of finger pointing this morning, particularly at a blown call, but the only finger point that needs to be done is one of laughter at Dan Orlovsky.

You've seen the pictures here yesterday, and likely this highlight several times over the last 20 hours, but it can't be viewed enough.

Above an outstanding arm, an NFL quarterback must possess a sense of awareness more than anything else. This play demonstrated the poise of a high school backup.

Maybe Dan was preparing for his next career in the Canadian Football League? It'll help him out that the end zones are 20 yards deep.

This really is the dumbest quarterback play ever, no question. I mean, this wasn't even close. He was more than a yard out of bounds. Unreal. Of course it was the Lions, and they lost by, wait for it, 2. Natch.

If only Orlovsky had done the Gus Frerrotte head-butt/self-imposed concussion in the back of the end-zone after this play... he could have been carried out of the stadium like Maximus at the end of Gladiator for setting the new gold standard in sports bloopers...

I feel sort of bad for him too, but he was nearly in the damn locker room. Just a monumental blunder. And yes, we will use this clip forever.
