Danica Patrick Hits Crew Member In Pit Lane

When Women Are Trying To Park, Get The Hell Out Of The Way

by CriticalFanatic CriticalFanatic | >7 days ago6 Comment Comments »

Danica Patrick doesn't need to draw any more attention to herself heading into the Indianapolis 500 than she'll already have. Whether it's her fault or not, she's already a big hit during practice sessions.

During Friday's practice runs, Patrick drilled Chuck Buckman, a crewman of Marco Andretti, and as you can see above it was quite a nasty blow. According to the recent reports, Mr. Buckman only suffered a concussions and abrasions to his scalp and face.

Safe to say he's quite fortunate.
“I really don’t remember how it happened,” Buckman said in a statement from the Speedway. “All I remember is I was talking with someone on Marco Andretti’s team and then everything is blank from that point.”
I'd go for a female driver joke right here, but maybe that's too soon.  We've got plenty of time for that in the next couple weeks leading up to the race. All I know is Buckman should know better than to get anywhere near a woman while she's trying to park a car.

+5 thumbs upShe should totally be removed from the sport.  She obviously can't drive and hit that person on purpose.
I'm kidding, what the hell was he doing in the middle of a pit box during a pit stop?

In other news, Steve Bunin (sp?) is one in a long line of terrible ESPN anchors.  He talks out of the side of his mouth like a stroke victim.

I named the handful I can tolerate in my "Rank the Anchors" poll, it really put things into perspective.  Why are monopolies, in any venue, always so terrible?

+1 thumbs upI think the problem with ESPN, and a lot of other news agencies, is that they are trying to appeal to the blogger age.  No longer are they just reporting news, but they are weighing in on their opinions, and opinion isn't news.
