It's true, a few teams have kicked to Devin Hester and kept him under control. I realize it's a junk-measuring contest. You don't want to wuss out and kick it into Lake Michigan. That's great, but if you do decide to kick to Hester you've given the Bears their only viable chance to win.
The Denver Broncos lost this game for a few other reasons as well, but not kicking to the best return man to ever play the game would have alleviated a lot of their problems. For that, I'd like to thank Shanahan for keeping the Bears ever so minute playoff chances alive.
Gotta love how Shanahan's ego cost himself this game. The Bears might be one of the easiest teams to beat... just kick it out of bounds. Obviously there's game where the D will step up and score a touchdown or the offense explodes and scores 14 points, but really theres no way a decent team should lose to them... and yes I realize my team lost to them, but that was one of the games where their D really stepped up.
Todd Sauerbrun: "We're not going to play that chicken s**t game"
Thanks a lot to the one and only trash talking punter... I hope that block by Peanut Tillman on the first Hester TD let him know what it's like to be a real football player.
