South Delta Secondary School parents and officials are all worked up about something that has become somewhat of a tradition at their high school football games. On the final game of the season, the school's senior cheerleaders have went streaking across the football field in their underwear, and sprayed the opposing team with silly string. Apparently the tactic worked, as their football team won the game.
From the report by the CBC's Eric Rankin:
"Most sport thongs, and strategically placed pieces of duct tape. They descend on the opposing team, spraying them with silly string. The distracted players from Cloverdale go on to lose, 20-14."
The school's principal, Ted Johnson, says he doesn't appreciate the tradition, and even warned the girls beforehand not to streak. But does he really care? It would seem not, since the only punishment was that the girls were told that they would be suspended IF they did something else. Seems like Mr. Johnson really doesn't care that much, since earlier in the year, the football team did a strip tease at the school's talent show. If he were really serious about it, the girls would have been suspended already, since he already issued the warning anyway.
One thing we know for sure is that cheerleaders might not be the brightest crayons in the box. From high school to the pros, they seem to have a habit of showing what some would consider to be poor judgment.

The term "streaking" was coined by a reporter for a local Washington DC news station as he watched a "mass nude run" take place at the University of Maryland in 1973. That nude run had over 500 participants. As the collected mass of nude students exited Bel Air dorm, the reporter, whose voice was broadcast live over the station via a pay phone connection exclaimed... "they are streaking past me right now. It's an incredible sight!" The next day it was out on the Associated Press wire as "streaking" and had nationwide coverage.
Streaking is the act of taking off one's clothes and running naked through a public place.
There has to be nudity somewhere to consider this official streaking.

I of course looked into this further and found an article from a canadian website and the posts about the article consisted with them complaining that they werent naked. They thought thongs and duct tape was no big deal and there shouldn't even have been an article unless there was real nudity. they were not impressed at all....I thought that was funny.

Sad to say, Naked, No, in mid-June, had the Jock Strap, and thongs and Pom Pom's race, but us people in North East Ohio, must be different.... Go Dragons!!!!!!....
