This fight is from the December 31st game between the Sharks and Wild, but it was too good to pass up. I'm not sure who the toughest players in sports out there are, but I'm starting to think that hockey enforcers are somewhere up there with alligator wrestlers.
That's because Minnesota's Derek Boogaard goes up against San Jose's Jody Shelley, who rarely backs away from a fight, and Boogaard not only thumps Shelley, he even breaks Shelley's helmet. With his bare hand. Cue awesome heavy metal music.
Anyway, I'm a Sharks fan, but even I was impressed with this. I mean, how can you not be inspired by a fight like this? Naturally, Minnesota went on to win the game, and me thinks it will be a while before anyone challenges Boogaard to another fight.
