It's little surprise that the Los Angeles Dodgers and Colorado Rockies are at their wit's end.
Joe Torre, Andruw Jones and some rising young talent were supposed to lead the Dodgers well over .500. Instead they've lost 9 of their last 12 and good chunk of the payroll remains disabled. The Colorado Rockies, who won 21 of 22 games at one point last season, have just reached the 21 win mark and have the worst record in the National League by three games.
When things aren't going well, fights are expected. You just don't expect them to be started like this. Matt Kemp went all Sensitive Sally on us.
After striking out in the 8th inning, Kemp took umbrage with the manner in which Rockies catcher Yorvit Torrealba tagged him out after dropped the third strike. The Dodgers right fielder would prefer you give him a lengthy back massage with the ball.
Temper tantrums aside, imagine if the Dodgers would have steered clear of Juan Pierre and Fatty McGoo and just plugged Kemp in CF to begin last season. Hindsight is 20/20 and it would have been a gamble but so is dishing out $80 million for two average players, one of which is trying to eat his way into another dimension.
And that is why Ned Colletti will be seeking work elsewhere.
Didn't the Dodgers just finish up paying for Darren Dreifort and now this?
The one thing I will say for Fatty McFat Fat-Fat is that he is not cheating the Dodgers when it comes to meal money.
Hey Juan Dis-a-Pierre, you think you are Kenny Lofton but you are just waterdown Otis Nixon.
