Dwight Howard's Block-Rebound Against The New Jersey Nets

Do We Need Anymore Proof That Dwight Howard Is The Best Young Big Man In The NBA?

Dwight Howard is the best young big man in the NBA and if there was ever any doubt, lets take a look at his block against the New Jersey Nets on Friday night.

Courtney Lee thought he had a clear path to the goal until Howard came from the weakside and instead of sending the ball into the fifth row like he could have, he grabbed it out of the air with one hand. Howard has seemed to figure it out, like Bill Russell use to do, that when you block it like that, then the other team doesn't get to inbound the ball and you can start the break.

Howard added 3 more blocks to that one in addition to 20 points and 22 rebounds in the victory, but forget about that and just enjoy that block one more time while trying to figure out if that is actually a block or a rebound.

I looked it up on youtube and I can't find it, I would love for to prove me wrong with a link.

Made the guy look like he was two feet shorter than he really was! When I was in high school we called that "packed". He got packed.

WOW! I don't think I've seen a block like that where the defender brings it straight down into his hands rather than swating it out of bounds - amazing!

Dwight is a total freak, he is so disruptive at times, yet subtle when necessary. He has proved that he can dunk with the best of them, as well as leading the NBA in blocked shots and rebounding, but what Howard does best can not be recorded as a stat, he leads his team.

I've never seen anything like that.  That is absolutely incredible!  I figured he would just smack it half way up the stands but he actually grabbed it... That was wicked cool.

When I saw that play, I thought to myself "How do they score that? Is it a block and a steal at the same time?" Amazing.
