By now you are aware of the tragedy that struck Kontinental Hockey League's Lokomotiv Yaroslavl team.  The flight they were on crashed heading to their season opening game against Dynamo Minsk, killing 37 players and coaches.

On Thursday night in front of fans mourning the loss of the team, Dynamo Minsk players skated out on the ice of their arena, not for a game, but for a remarkable "hockey funeral" for their fallen opponents.

37 huge portraits of the players and staff were placed on the ice and a requiem mass was performed by an orchestra, while portraits of the departed Yaroslavl players and coaches appeared on the scoreboard.

This is as surreal, heartbreaking and moving a moment you'll probably ever see at a hockey rink.
