EA NCAA Football '09 Is Out - Review Thread

Let The Mass Roster Alterations Begin!

There was a time where I would be in line at Best Buy this morning waiting to purchase the freshly released NCAA Football game by EA Sports. It's the best game on the planet, and the only game I've played over the last few years. Each year I say it's finally time that I don't need the next version... then I see the trailers and simply can't resist.

NCAA Football '09 is officially on the shelves this morning, and I know some of you were out in force last night at 12 am, so let me know your thoughts if you can tear yourselves away from year one of your dynasty.

Now are you the type that jumps right into an exhibition game, or do you start a dynasty right away? Or, are you like me, and refuse to play a single game unless every player of your favorite team is named and appropriately adjusted. No cheating, just a few tweaks that the producers failed to acknowledge. The unforgivable mistakes like a left-handed quarterback turned right-handed or some black and white confusion. Those details must be altered.

Anyways, gamers, feel free to place your reviews in this thread throughout the day/week. Meanwhile, I'll keep watching this trailer until I get my own.

Unless it has Tecmo Bo Jackson in it, I refuse to play it.

Super Tecmo Bowl was hilariously awesome. Could anyone bust 60 tackles on one run in an actual football game? Well, just me, but no one else.

As long as you're wearing Iron Man's get-up, I'm sure.

What disappoints me is that no one has taken a crack at providing play-by-play for these runs.

DeBerg hands to Okoye, he takes it around the right side, breaks loose to the 37 and… stops?  And two defenders bounce off of him!  He’s in space, but he’ll scramble around to the left hash mark, gets to the 34, shimmies right, and… runs back to the 25?  What on Earth is Okoye doing?  He’s waiting for the defense to close!  And two more would-be tacklers pinball off of him!  Okoye to the 30, the 40, the fif—he turns around again!  Is he trying to elude ghosts?  What is this, The Sixth Sense?  For the love of God, Yahweh, Allah—whatever Higher Power you believe in—someone wake me up from this wacky dream!

Forget for a moment that he's a baseball guy -- Vin Scully is the only man I can envision delivering that call.  And it would be the Greatest.Call.Ever.

If any of you are bored at work or home, I am going to be taking on Jim from BushLeague.TV at 2 on NCAA 09. He does a 24 hour game review and I am going to be apart of that. He will be Alabama and I am Oklahoma.

There is the link to go watch and get a first hand impression of the game without actually playing it.

Ok well I love this game.. the crowd is in it and the celebrations are better too. Throwing the deep ball is a little harder than in 08 which is a good thing cause you cant just be a QB breaking all kinds of records. The AI is better too at reading plays you repeat... awesome stuff..
