Emmitt Smith has brought us countless great moments in announcing, and has proven that although he was pretty good at racking up yards on the field, he finds it
difficult to speak intelligently and coherently behind the microphone.
On the Monday Night Football pregame show, he got caught dancing and lip-syncing to Young Jeezy and Kanye West's "Put On". The best part might be right afterward, when he finally realizes that they are on the air, and his face looks like one of a kid who got caught with his hand in the cookie jar.
This isn't the first time that Emmitt has given us something to laugh at. Whether it's letting Brett Favre know that
Brett has to come to terms with how important the Cowboys were to Emmitt's career, talking about the
Chargers "co-horsing" Shawne Merriman into playing hurt, or expounding on the
guys who fall hardest the most, and the Cowboys' problems, which obviously stem from Tony Romo's off-the-field issues. Best of all, perhaps, were
his post-Super Bowl comments. Priceless.
"I
f you look at Eli Manning right now, he's a guy who know who he is inside, and very comfortable in his own skin"
"
We always knew that the Patriots defense was one of the weakest links, of the team. But what happened tonight, the strength of the Patriots got debacled!"
Yes, indeed. Debacled.
Thanks, Emmitt, and keep up the good work!
