Last year, Chris Osgood was one of the best goalies in the NHL. In fact, he won the Wiliam M. Jennings trophy for having the lowest goals against average, and also led the league in points percentage. This year, however, has been a bit rough for Osgood. His goals against average has jumped more than a full goal per game, from 2.09 to 3.24, and his save percentage is down from .914 to .878.
The crowning moment in Osgood's year so far, however, might be this shot from their game between the Red Wings and Blue Jackets. Fedor Tyutin took a shot from center ice, probably never expecting much to happen from it, and Osgood whiffed on the save, allowing the shot to go in, and letting the Blue Jackets tie the game at 3. Fortunately for Osgood, the Red Wings won anyway, 5-3.
