Gary Coleman Ejected From Minor League Game For Corked Bat
This Didn't Look Staged At All
READ MORE:

You may remember yesterday that I mentioned in passing that Gary Coleman had been signed to a one-game minor league contract. I'm not even sure it's a minor league contract actually. Technically, the team he signed with, the Madison Mallards, are part of a collegiate summer league.

Anyhow, Gary came to the plate last night as the leadoff hitter, but was ejected before he could hit (video courtesy of Home Run Derby).

It definitely appeared to be totally real, well, with the exception that both the umpire and Gary were wearing mics. But other than that, I was convinced.

In all honesty, I actually think they should have let him hit, since he probably would have drawn walk. Hey, any edge you can get.

Anyway, it was probably a good idea Gary did this stunt at a collegiate summer league game, as he provides a valuable lesson for the kids. Stay in school and for God's sake, never, ever, be a child actor.

Are you kidding me?!?  This was obviously a publicity stunt by the Marketing Director, of the Madison (Wisconsin) Mallards Baseball Team.  The M.D. was probably spoofing or reliving the shortest baseball player in MLB History, when 3'7' Eddie Gaedel played one game for the St. Louis Browns, on August 19, 1951

(source: www.baseball-referrence.com/g/gaedeed01.shtml ) . During the YouTube video, I heard some cheers and some boo's.   Also during this stunt on video, we see Gary Coleman (who stands 4'8', from www.imdb.com) come up to the Batters Box, when the opposing Manager argues that Coleman's bat has too much pine tar on it...trying also to relive the George Brett (KC Royals) pine tar incident again the Yankees at Yankess Stadium, back in1980.  In my opinion, this stunt of Gary Coleman playing one game for the Madison Mallards....STRUCKOUT!!!! It didn't work for the 1951 St. Louis Browns and it didn't work this time, either.
