Cam Janssen and Aaron Downey put on one of the best fights all year last night during the Red Wings' 5-0 win over the Blues. The fight itself lasted almost 2 minutes long, so the video is a bit lengthy, but it's worth watching. There are tons of great hits, and both guys put out a ton of effort in this one. Nicely done by both of them in this one.

i remember watching this live at the game and i was one of the few red wings fans in my section cheering for Aaron.

This fight is better than most of the professional boxing matches that have been on recently. I have seen better hockey fights though. Vernon vs. Roy and Probert vs. everybody else

I saw a young Aaron Downey when he was with the AHL's Providence Bruins in 1999. He got into a couple of fights against the Portland Pirates and you could tell then he was a hell of a fighter.
I still love Downey's one-punch KO of Jesse Boulerice back when he was with Dallas.

u saw that too??? yes i love that part. the ref, in his head hes going common common, no dont fall u a$$ hole!!!! lmfao!!! i dindt see wats so great about this fight though. they just looked like 2 drunk guys amasingly keeping there balance and trying to hit eachother.

the best part was when the ref helped Downey keep his balance when he almost fell over. the refs must have been enjoying it as much as everyone else

how great fight. It looked like Downey was going for the pressure points. And I love when the refs broke it up both players were too tired to even act like they still wanted to go after the other guy.

As a Blues fan this was the highlight of the game and because I am bias, I gave the decision to Janssen. To bad the Blues couldnt ride the momentum and put on a better show in the game. The Blues may have won the battle but the Red Wings completely dominated the war.

Now THAT was a fight - not just a hockey brawl. Two guys, sizing each other up - staying on their feet - landing some good punches - that was better than the last couple heavyweight fights I have seen.
