More Jeff Van Gundy today because he entertains us so.
Mike Breen asks JVG who his favorite celebrity is, the natural question with Hollywood's finest littering the sideslines during Game 1 at the Staples Center. Van Gundy gives an appropriate answer, "Alyssa Milano," without any hesitation.
One problem. He meant Vanessa Minnillo, who was apparently sitting right behind the broadcast table and likely very impressed with his gorgeous locks of hair.
Speaking of his hair, or lack thereof, Awful Announcing was able to splice together another hilarious Van Gundy exchange where he complains about the price of a hair cut. Not a big issue for me at this stage of life, but just in case we suffer the same fate, I fully agree with his sliding scale pricing based on amount of hair request.
Back to Van Gundy's Hollywood babe mix-up. Jimmy Traina spoke will Jeff this morning who wanted to clarify his blunder:
We just got off the phone with Jeff Van Gundy. He says he did mean Vanessa Minnillo, not Alyssa Milano. He said Minnillo was sitting behind the broadcast team and "her beauty made me starstruck and I just choked" when Mike Breen asked him who was his favorite celebrity he saw. We also asked Van Gundy if Milano was there, would he go with Minnillo or Milano. "Minnillo. That girl, wow," was his answer. When asked if he pronounced Nick Lachey's name wrong on purpose, Van Gundy said, "no, I had no idea how to say his name." Lastly, we figured we'd get a prediction from Van Gundy. "I said Lakers in 6 before the series and I still think it'll be Lakers in 6."Honest mistake. Although, I'm thinking Milano is really his choice. Hey, we'd pick her too, although I feel like I just got a little MLB pitching rosin on me just for saying that.
